This is one of (if not the absolute) the smoothest casting 8wt rods I have ever fished. It is so light it feels like I have a 5 or 6 wt. in my hand, but also has the power to roll over extremely heavy set-ups and a backbone that allows me to put some serious pressure on when needed.
